About the Photographer
Samiyah Wright (Georgia, USA, 2005) is an aspiring documentary photographer currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Photography at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD).
During her 7th grade year, Samiyah faced a challenging situation that led to her decision to be homeschooled in 8th grade. This pivotal experience became a turning point in her life, sparking her passion for art. It was during this time that she enrolled in her first formal art class, where she created a powerful anti-bullying artwork that garnered recognition from a neighboring school. Her work was subsequently displayed at the school, marking the beginning of her journey as an artist.
From that moment on, Samiyah’s passion for creative expression grew, and she explored various artistic mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, and film. After graduating high school, Samiyah was accepted into SCAD, where she is now working towards a degree in photography with a minor in Business Entrepreneurship and Management.
